French Honor Society Members Support Rural Heritage Days

Members of the Ste. Genevieve High School chapter of the Société Honoraire de Français (French Honor Society) recently took part in a community service project by volunteering at Rural Heritage Days, held at the Felix Vallé State Historic Site in Ste. Genevieve, Missouri.

Hands-On Activities Highlight Local History

The students played an active role in bringing local history and traditions to life during the event. Volunteers assisted visitors with a variety of hands-on activities, such as face painting, quill writing, rag doll making, and candle making. These activities aimed to immerse attendees in the historical and cultural heritage of the Ste. Genevieve area.

Supporting Historic Site Tours

In addition to facilitating interactive experiences, French Honor Society students also helped guide visitors during tours of the historic Felix Vallé home. Their efforts contributed to educating the community and visitors about the significance of the site and the enduring traditions of the region.

Community Service and Educational Engagement

This volunteer opportunity allowed high school students to serve their community while engaging with and celebrating Ste. Genevieve's unique cultural legacy. By participating in Rural Heritage Days, the students gained valuable experience in community involvement and learned about the history and traditions that shape their hometown.
